Which BMX Chain Should I Buy?

Which BMX Chain Should I Buy?

There's nothing more important than a properly functioning chain. The drivetrain is the engine of the bike, so a good chain means you'll go farther, faster, and longer. The wide range of options can be daunting, so we put together a list of our current favorite chains.

Standard Chain

Standard chains are the tried and true baseline in your search. Standard chains are lighter and sleeker than their half-link counterparts. But not all standard chains are made equally. Here's our favorites:
Animal Mike Hoder 710 Chain
Animal Mike Hoder 710 KMC BMX Chain
The Animal Bikes Hoder 710 chain is Mike Hoder's signature model made by KMC using the proven KMC 710 chain as the basis. The Hoder 710 features both heat-treated and riveted pins to maximize strength, tall inner plates to increase tensile strength and stamped Animal logos on the side plates. Pre-installed half link helps fine tune the rear end length.
Fly Bikes Tractor Chain
Fly Tractor BMX Chain
With extra thick 1.3mm link plates, hardened rollers, premium hollow chromoly pins with an extra strong chromium heat treatment and the convenience of a built in half-link, the bulletproof Tractor chain is about as trustworthy and reliable as its gets.

Half-Link Chains

Half-Link chains are comprised of smaller, directional links. They are built for riders who go big and know their chain is going to take some abuse. They're beefier than standard chains, which means they're a bit heavier, and but far stronger.
Shadow Consipracy Interlock V2 Half-Link Chain
Shadow Conspiracy Interlock v2 Half-Link BMX Chain
